Preview not using css style

For many years I've designed and updated my website using Frontpage 2003. I work on it in design view and then check it out in the preview view. It has always worked fine.

Suddenly, after all these years, the preview view does not display properly. The text is there but Frontpage does not follow the code in my css file and displays the text very large. This has never happened before. I can go to File and then choose display in browser and it still works, but not with the preview view in Frontpage.

My pages, images, css file and all other files are located in the same folder. As I mentioned, this never happened until today. Any ideas?

Does it happen consistently? Every now and then the CSS similarly disappears from SubEthaEdit's HTML preview. Quit and restart, or even just close and reopen the doc, and it comes back. It's an awful jolt, visually-- but at the same time it's useful to see what your doc would look like if the server ate the stylesheet.

Have you upgraded recently? Another recurring issue I get is that every time I install a new SEE version, the default font changes and I have to manually edit the .plist file.

This is, of course, about a completely unrelated program. But they're a couple of things you can look at.

The only update since it last worked was the most recent security update for Internet Explorer 8. I kind of suspect that this may have broken the preview feature in FP2003. It's likely that the preview is dependent on IE.

If that's the case, I'll live with it. Maybe I will move to Sharepoint Designer 2007. It doesn't come with a built in preview, but MS didn't think it was being used enough.
