Set up IIS properly with Dreamweaver

Why are folders read-only?

I have been studying the docs on IIS7 and it is still driving me nuts. I am using Windows7 now, but I tried using IIS on XP Pro last year and still couldn't do it.

I am bound & determined here, but I do need help.

Dreamweaver cannot save into folders within inetpub or wwwroot. Access is denied. I change access to RW using the Windows Explorer, but it still does not work in DW. IIS is functioning just fine. Dreamweaver wants me to use a folder in my documents for the files. When I let it, of course IIS cannot see them.

If I use the Windows Explorer again, to manually move the files from the folder in My Documents, over to the IIS folders I can open the files fine in a browser.

Please Please Please what is the trick to getting DW to use the IIS root directory?

how have you set up the site in DW ? what is the address ?

That's what I am trying to figure out! What I have doesn't work. Dreamweaver asks me to use the Documents folder since it cannot put files in the wwwroot folder. So it forces me to manually copy from that Docs folder into wwwroot. I can do it by hand, so why does DW say it's got a permissions problem?

I could use the DW site setup and use my documents folder as the site root sure. But then to test the pages I'd have to copy them into wwwroot anyway, wouldn't I?
