I was considering upgrading from DW CS3 to CS4 and reading up about the benefits. I noticed that they were now offering "Adobe InContext Editing", which is an included CMS system that can be set up in various ways. I watched a couple of their compelling little tutorial videos and read the documentation and was convinced enough to decide to purchase the upgrade.

It seemed like the answer to my CMS prayers but before I placed the order I had one last look. I realised that they were hosting the dependent service so I checked to see if there were any additional charges for this. I could find no mention of additional charges on the Adobe website but the cynic in me made me check elsewhere. Sure enough, this is being offered on a free trial period after which there is to be an ongoing charge, which they have not confirmed.

Isn't this a completely unethical sales technique?

They seem to be trying to lock people in to the system hoping they will build client's websites using it then hit them with another ongoing bill in a few months. Can you imagine the hassle that opting out would cause at this stage if you had developed a few clients' websites on the system?
