did you move any directories? if you move the folders that you store your files in, and dreamweaver can find it, then it will not have any sites in the site manager.

ok, well then if the directories have not been moved, then just restore them....

do a "new" site and re-input the fields and you should be all good... i hope you have the FTP account informatino for them?

Well that was the problem I am was complaining about having. I had about 20 sites diappear - having to input all that info would be terribly time consuming - especially having to look up each site's FTP usernames and passwords.

I was just asking if anyone knoe why they suddenly disappeared or how to get them back without having to do it manually one by one.

i have only read about that... never experienced it. according to other posts i have read its a but with no current fix becuase it happens so randomly and its not declared a DW error... possible windows issue with the registry and the associated directories....?

have you used the import/export function before? you can export your site definitions so that if this happens again, you can import it with no configuration necessary.

No I haven't, where is the import/export site definitions feature located in Dreamweaver?

right in the manage sites dialog box. the box that lists all your sites.

click Export and check the radio button that says:

Back up my settings (includes login, password, and local paths)

it will create a site file "website.ste" that way if this happens again, you can at least import the config data with just an import instead of manually putting everything in.
