Can't see anything in design view in Dreamweaver

I came across a posting from a year ago from Big Adventure, where he could not see anything but the background color in design view in Dreamweaver.

I have the same problem with a website I inherited from another design firm. The index page will not show in design view. All I get is the black background and a couple of dotted lines denoting the table. I have tried everything and still I can not see it, so I have to edit the code.

The problem was the same with Dreamweaver MX and with Dreamweaver 8 which I recently upgraded to. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem. Site views fine in FF / IE but when I look at it in DW MX (2004) it just shows a few graphical elements and some tables with nothing in them.

site was written using Edit Pad Pro.
