It did to mine, but I was able to fix it in a few minutes. The problem was that EW by default saved a page in utf-8, while all the pages saved in FrontPage were saved in iso-8859-1. The FrontPage file (iso-8859-1) that had an include of the utf-8 page certainly stopped working.
So, just make sure you watch out for page encoding.
Simply change the default doctype and encoding settings before opening or creating a web.
I am happy using EW, but I consider that the setup program did not prompt me with a warning of such a change to be bad form, to put it mildly.
