transferring DW MX to a new machine

ok, so I'm now moving DW MX 2004 to another machine.

I remember there is a way to transfer all the FTP / username / passwords without having to retype them in.

please, what is the name of the magic file that transfers all that easily and simply?

someone once was good enough to help me on this - but it seems to have fallen out of the archive or something.

In DW you can create site definition files for each website. These are files which store all the required settings. They have a .ste extension.

If you have created site definition files it's just a case of transferring these then importing the websites through the DW main menu > manage sites option.

just now getting back to this...

ok, so I can export one at a time. But I have DOZENS.

I know there is (or was) s a trick to export them all in one shot.

might there be a file that I can just copy over to the new machine that contains them all?

Was doing some research of my own due to the "disappearing" site settings that happen to me every 6 months or so. Found this nifty little tool that backs up all site settings for Dreamwever, as well as other Macromedia/Adobe products:
