Differences between web development programs

Can someone tell me what are the differences between Frontpage and Visual Basic 2005. I haven't used Frontpage that much but I've noticed it's very similiar to Visual Basic 2005.

Also I'd like to know what is a good graphical program to use if I want to design my own graphics. For instance I'd like to make a surface look like glass. I want to design a real shopping mall on my website. I also want to show good shadow effects, textures, shiny wood floors, etc. Hope I'm asking this in the right place!

Photoshop seems to be the industry standard. I utilize Photoshop and Illustrator along with ImageReady and Fireworks.

I use FP for all web development and have since late 1995. :)

Thanks Pageone - I was thinking Photoshop was the best way to go. Hope I can find a free trial version somewhere - I'll have to do some research. ;-)
