Doing something wrong

So, I have image2 on a transparent background and give it a nice drop shadow. Then I apple+c it and drop it into a new layer on my master image1. The drop shadow is no longer there.

I've tried umpteen different ways, but haven't figured it out yet. What do I need to do to preserve the drop shadow when putting it and the image into a new layer?

How did you make the drop shadow? If you made it as a layer style, you need to copy the layer style, and then apply it to the new layer in your master image.

To do this, control-click on the name of the layer you wish to copy, choose "Copy Layer Style"

Next, control-click on the new layer in your master and choose "Paste Layer Style".

Sometimes it's easy to forget that there's a whole other world just a control-click/right-click away! :-)
