Hi all,

Have been creating images ect using photoshop and although I have created the new file with transparent background, and the new file has pixel transparent squares so you know its a transparent background.

BUT for some reason after saving for Web, I place images on site and the background is visible and not transparent.

i have created these type of things before and never had problems, but now cant sort it.

Anyone know what may be going wrong?

Not sure if this is the problem, but transparency only works for gifs and there's a Transparency tickbox in the Save For Web dialog that I believe needs to be selected too.

Almost all but the very oldest browsers support index transparency for GIFs. If you want alpha transparency you'll need to use a PNG and the Alpha opacity filter to get it to work with older versions of IE.

You were right, how stupid of me, I had changed the way I save files for some reason, i was saving them as jpeg's instead.

Cant believe how much that has been bugging me.
