HI everyone
I am really stumped about this and would really appreciate any help.
I've been searching through tutorials and even bought two photoshop books but I cant figure this out.
I'll try to explain my question to the best of my ability.

If lets say you buy a web site template from a site like monster, they include Photoshop files and html files. The files have some text layers which appear as regular text in the html document. My questions is, how do you save the photoshop file to output as regular html text?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much,
Terry

terryrocks, you cannot save a ps file to export as text.

What you can do is go in to each text layer (assuming they have not been rasterized) copy the text and then paste the text in to a text or html editor.

You need to take the Photoshop file into ImageReady. From there you have the option to save as HTML.

Go to File >> Save Optimized As

Name your file, then select "Images and HTML" from the drop down right below the file name field.

ImageReady will create an HTML file and an images directory containing all graphics from the Photoshop file.

To edit the HTML text, use the Slice Select tool to select the page slice where the text appears. You should see your HTML text in the slices palette. Edit the text in that window.

Hope that helps.

Of course, the better option is to edit the HTML text in an HTML or text editor and not mess with the ImageReady templates.
