Hi,
ever since I upgraded to PSP 7, I cannot work out how to even draw a simple shape (e.g. a rectangle) so that it is simply filled with one colour. This used to be so easy with older versions - now the Preset Shapes tool doesn't seem to be able to do this. Please can someone help me on this!
Cheers

I've never used anything below version 8, but a light went on when I read your question because I just about tore my hair out over something similar after I recently had to reset the program. Y'know how sometimes you have something on a program set for so long that you forget you had to set it in the first place? Make sure you have the "All tools" box checked next to your materials palettes. If this doesn't give you foreground as line and background as fill, post again and I'll see if I can figure it out. But if you're like me, the "All tools" box was a great "set it and forget it" - until I had to remember it. Without the box checked, the materials palettes only work with whatever tool you were using when you set the materials.

Use the preset shapes and choose a shape

Then click on the Object selector button - last one on the list of tools

Then properties

The play with stroke and fill
