I suggest you learn HTML basics and some simple CSS layout techniques.

Then you can slice your image and apply it to a page using CSS to position the images. Using CSS helps page design in many ways - It'll keep your text and links in a form that is more adaptable, useable, accessibile, Search Engine Freindly...

If you are just setting off you are in a great position. The CSS forum here is fantastic so you could have a dig about in the library [webmasterworld.com] for CSS info.

There are dozens of great tutorials out there for those newer to web design - have a look about and feel free to ask more questions if you get stuck.
