Are you asking how to create streams, or how to add streams to your site? Because the answer to the latter is not to embed them, but simply link to them. Otherwise, the major technologies are similar in their (non-)complexity.

There is simple for the user and simple for the site owner. Which do you want?

I'm using swf files for my videos, it's preety easy to implement into html, there are a lot of utilities that convert to swf... and the vids play automatically when you open the page in your browser.

There are three ways to add video to a website using Flash:

* Embed video in a Flash document (results in a larger file size).
* Use the Flash Professional media components to stream video from a server (reduces file size).
* Link it to an external video file and export your Flash document as a QuickTime movie. Note that this technique is only useful if you are building QuickTime movies with Flash playback controls.
