(Or maybe there's a better way that we should try to learn it?)
Our site desperately needs a redesign, and we're often creating new sites. It would be lovely to be able to do these ourselves so they reflect our consciousness and intent more accurately. We both have artistic skills in other non-web-design areas.
Thanks for any suggestions.
You can learn all you need to using the Internet - seminars and courses are OK if you need intensive burst of tuition but if you are planning to do the work yourself actually getting your hands dirty is the best teacher you'll find IMHO.
One thing true of the web - the majority of it seem to be either, ahem, adult natured, or geared toward web professionals - there are mountains of tutorials, help guides, crib sheets, blogs and of course some very helpful forums ;)
If you are planning on do more than the html/css bit and are looking to create dynamic php/mysql site then I think a course might be a better option - if not then get stuck in and head back here whenever you want for a bit of help.
Point is well taken, though!
