Hangouts is getting another makeover as google continues to try and find a way to turn it into something different from it's original objective. It was only in October last year that Google demoted hangout as optional. [webmasterworld.com]

Google is now splitting Hangouts into two, with Hangouts Meet for business meetings up to 30-persons. Hangouts Chat, Google says, is an "intelligent communications app for teams that takes direct messaging in Hangouts and evolves it to reflect the way modern teams talk business."

Working on a project means bringing cross-functional teams together, discussing tasks that need to get done and sharing your work. Chat is built with exactly this in mind.

Hangouts Meet is rolling out gradually to all G Suite users in the coming weeks, with Hangouts Chat available to G Suite users through application via the early adopter program.

I'm just waiting for the full monetization to come into it.
