Usually this will occur if you have sent more than x number of e-mails in 1 24 hour period.

It is aimed at controlling SPAM.

This might not be your case however it obviously is triggering some sort of protection alert.

What was their support response? I've never had the problem you describe and I've done all sorts of wacky things with my account.

have you got another email account on your computer that goes through the gmail server? i know i can set up my own emails to use google's SMTP, or POP, or whichever one it is.

maybe you are sending emails from another account without realising that you are going through gmail

After a note to 'support', they have re-activated the accounts but no other response.

I think it might have started yesterday because I ignored the repeated Outlook error messages (for a few hours) whenever it tried to check my unactivated google-apps email. I was hesitating to switch over my MX records mid-week, and should have deleted the new Outlook email account.

They shut down my main personal gmail acct, and two business google-apps accts. Yesterday and today. What a drag, specially as it happened shortly after sending them $100 for the new apps acct.

I'll have to see if there is a problem with checking 2-3 accts at the same time with pop email. Hopefully not, I would like this to work as an alternative to microsoft exchange.

Well, my Gmail is locked down again right in the middle of writing an email to a friend. I think it might be due to my Outlook checking my other G-app-domain acct while I'm signed into my personal acct.

This confirms to me that G-apps is not suitable for business and I'm going to cancel my accounts. Many people on here have mentioned how they don't want to get too tied up with Google and have them knowing everything about their business etc. But I have always reasoned that I don't have anything to hide from them but now I see that you can't give the keys to your business to Google because they can just shut you down at any time. (not to mention the SERPs)

I'm glad I checked this out in baby steps. To begin my disentanglement from the Gorg, I have just switched my default search engine to MSN Livesearch. More to follow. Cheers

Now it lets me sign in but shuts down half-way through an email, not saving the draft.

Is Google evil now?

Since 24 hours no access to all Gmail accounts at our site. No response from Google support.

Time to throw that solution into the dustbin. Awful. Strictly.
