3 days ago I got a new machine w/Win XP/IE 6, really nothing else on it so far. (I've installed AVG, an FTP, an editor and the toolbar only)

I just installed the google toolbar 2 days ago, and I haven't been able to get a PR at any site yet.

Is it just me? Any ideas?

Check that you allowed the tool bar to show PR.

It's working fine for me.

Delete it and install it again.

Make sure you take the time to read everything before clicking.

It should work.

There is no setting in winxp for the toolbar. The only thing I had to do when I installed it was make sure pagerank is turned on. What browser are you using?

i'm using ie 6.

edit to mention...i decided to chek yet again on the toolbar settings. the PR is turned on, but when i moused over the option, the alt text said 'no page rank information available'.

I thought there was something wrong with that toolbar. One of my sites has been showing the wrong PR for years. I hope they correct it soon. ;)

P.S. PR in the public toolbar is of little value these days. Sure, it's an indication of "something". But, it doesn't mean what it used to. ;)

i know it's not all that important, but i only downloaded the toolbar because i like to chek out PR on my sites.
its rather frustrating because the thing should be working.

I switched to Opera a while back, no tool bar.
(or if there is, shhhhhhhh, I don't wanna know as
I'm happier not knowing.)

Should I ever change my mind, I'll shake the dust on the ie icon and take a peek, provided the old version even still works by then.

To me, knowing toolbar pr is more and more like knowing your rental car has 1/4 tank of gas. Unless you know the tank size, and the average miles per gallon for that model, you don't have near enough information to make a major plan.
