Which third party review sites are the most reliable and effective for getting Google to show reviews next to your listing? Are some more highly respected than others? How does Google know that the reviews are not fake?

I think we'd all like to know how Google evaluates and decided which reviews are fake. I doubt we'll ever know.
I suspect Goole would love it if there were only review made via G+
