Rich Snippets for products - confused with questions?

Regarding Google's rich snippets for product markup...

I have a site with various widgets on it and would like to use the product markup. I am confused as to how to go about this though. Each widget has its own features page with basically all the details needed for the markup, but is it okay to basically markup the whole page since the various details are all throughout it and then just do this for each widget page?

Or... I have a description page which has a brief 'intro' of all the widgets on it together for people to read over and select from... would it be better to use this and do all of them on one page?

Do I need to markup the products on every page they appear on the site or only once on the site?

I could not find any details on the correct way to go about this other than they tell you how to mark them up... well is it every page or only once?

The snippet should be on the page where the product is sold from, not an aggregate page with multiple products. If you have a product detail page, it should be there then only one snippet per page, otherwise it may be seen as spam. However, I have noticed the Google does not seem to be displaying rich snippets like they use to, possibly because people are gaming them.

So on the details page of each widget I should use the markup? Only once per product for the entire website?

That is pretty much what I was thinking, but just wanted to make sure that is how it all worked... yes?

Okay, I just tried this out... I decided to use the schema.org format since it is not G specific. Using Google's rich snippet tool everything seems to come back okay, but in the preview area it shows without the product picture... it uses my publisher picture instead since I have a G+ page account linked to the page.

If I remove my rel="publisher" for the G+ page then publisher picture disappears, however, the product picture still does not show...

Any ideas about this? Does the tool just not show product pictures? Having the picture was one of the main reasons I was doing this to stand out a bit and I certainly do not want my site logo (publisher image) to show in place...

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I have never seen results where Google shows an image of the product except for under their shopping results. If a person is signed in to Google, they will see the publisher's profile picture. But as I said, it seems Google is not showing rich snippet results like they use to. I know on all my sites, while they were showing for the past six months or so, none of them show now. Coincidentally, it happened when I switched form using Microdata format to schema.org.

Well, if I notice anything I will report back. For the meantime I am using the schema.org method as well since this is supposed to be the standard with name, description, image, productid, price, and currency... there are soo many available options on schema.org, but for now I think that will suffice until something actual comes out it.

Use this up in your header to have the image appear for goog and facebook.

Just be aware that using the markup for rich snippets and product data will drive more bots to your site and 99% of them would be scrapers. We're battling that now.
