Chrome 71 is due in a few weeks, and Google says it'll go further with ad blocking of misleading or harmful ads. The sort of ads |Google refers to are the type that trick a user pretending to be system warnings, or close ad buttons that don't actually close the ad. Typically, these ads are often used by scammers in phishing attempts.
Starting in December 2018, Chrome 71 will remove all ads on the small number of sites with persistent abusive experiences.
