Hello

I have a new google adwords account. Today I noticed that 1 group (and only) in one of my campaigns doesn't support dynamic keyword insertion.

If I use for a title {KeyWord:text} ... even if my keywords are short ... every time the result title is "text".

Do you have some supposition why is that?
I'm not a beginner in adwords ... and i think that this may be is now kind of google adwords restriction (for any keywords)?

What do you think?

Could it be anthying to do with the particular keywords that you have included in the AdGroup.

I assume that there are keywords for the group that have less than 25 characters (and hence should show as a title). Does the ad show "text" in response to every keyword, or just some?

PS Welcome to Webmasterworld one of the best two forums for discussion of AdWords issues.

I checked some of keywords with less of 25 characters and they all show text instead of keyword :(

Then I deleted all my ads ... but one friend of mine tell me he has the same problem (with all adgroup).

I can't say with confidence that all keywords in my adgroup have this problem ... but if only some of my keywords have this problem, then why is that?

Had the same problem once and called my rep. Got the standard answer which they give when they don't know either:
"It has to do with the Quality Score. It's too low and then we only show the alternative for keyword insertion".
More they don't know either...

.

I've seen this recently, too. Are they trademarks, by any chance?

I think there may by trademarks. Will this effect to all keywords in my adgroup?

barrymossel and QualityNonsense

do you know someone which can't use {KeyWord...} with trademarks?

No. Call it a hunch - Google say they'll investigate trademark use in ad copy, but not as keywords. Ergo it's likely they'll want to keep trademarks out of ad copy.

Be careful using trademarks in your ads. You need to make sure that you're not 'passing off'. Google might be doing you a favour if they are filtering your text somehow.

As far as I know you can't use keywords which are trademarked (outside US), and as keyword insertion uses the keyword that triggered the keyword insertion in the ad, it won't show...
And for me I can't use tm's in ad copy (ad will be declined) and for some not as kw's (they won't show)...

Wow I have never heard of this. Have some difficulty in believing it. Will write to support and see what they say.

If the keywords are trademarks, google wont allow to show in your ad copy. I tried something like this long ago but instead of the default keyword showing, my ad got disapproved. Dont know if this policy has changed on this front.

The second reason for your keywords not getting substituted might be because those certain keywords are 'under review'.

You should write to support and get this sorted out.

Just had a chat with support - so totally love the live chat feature - and the rep said that quality score has no affect on which keyword (actual / default) shows.

Okay I got an email from support after my live chat. I am just going to copy paste part of the response.
As I mentioned, Quality Score is used as a positional tool for your ad. However, if the keyword that triggers your ad does not meet a certain Quality Score threshold, then yes, your default text will be used. However, this does not have to do with what the user queries. This quality threshold is dependent upon the keyword in your account.
