Adsense full screen ads on my websites can't be closed on a cell phone. This seems to be a problem on vertical modes only and not on cell phone landscape mode. Is anyone else having this problem?

You mean vertical? I have the same problem since yesterday (Feb 13th).

I am a large publisher and we started receiving lots of complaints from our users that ads render full screen on mobile and cannot be closed. The close/collapse button is missing. If I pinch-to-zoom OUT on mobile, I can see the close button is actually rendered OUTSIDE the viewport. These are actually anchor ads (both top and bottom) that render full screen.

Please note, it’s not a CSS issue. I checked other sites (including competitors on different stacks) and the behavior is identical.

@tomlat, yes! Vertical. Sorry. Did you disable anchor ads to get rid of the problem?

Yes, I disabled them and they don’t show. However I wouldn’t say disabling them solves THE PROBLEM :( These ads have very good conversion rates so I do want them on my site working properly…

@tomlat, yeah. I disabled the anchor ads, and the problem is gone, but now my revenue will drop. :-(

Here the same. My first thought was I got hacked and someone was able to infiltrate code. But the overlays were gone when I disabled Google Adsense.

I disabled achor ads to get rid of them. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I think I will keep AnchorAds being disabled. They are making only about 4% of total revenue and they are extremely annoying on Mobile. Even before the issue. :-)

Hello,
I have the same problem with the anchors ads can't that be closed. I disable the anchors ads but there is a revenue issue.

=> How can we inform Adsense about this issue ?

I guess they are informed because all publishers are infected. The official adsense community forum is also full of messages.

I reported the problem via the "Contact Us" section of my AdSense account; I hope to receive a answer.

I saw that bug on a website some minutes ago. So, it's still not fixed.

I will refrain from using anchor ads in the future. The revenue is relatively modest, and the ad format is quite annoying especially on mobile devices.

Anchor ads are not a good user experience and do not generate much more revenue, so I'm done with them, too.
