Is the Adsense CMP GDPR notice enough?

Is the GDPR solution by Google enough

Hi guys,

So I enabled the Google-provided GDPR message from my Adsense account and when I check with an European IP, the pop-up appears nicely.

But I also have a cookie notification footer banner that is always showing there (since many years ago) which links to my Privacy Policy. This is the GENERIC cookie notice that publishers were told to publish as part of their Privacy Policy many years ago and it only goes away when a visitor clicks "accept cookies".

So now, with the Google GDPR message AND the generic cookie message both showing, is it overkill and annoying? Should I remove the generic cookie footer message or keep it AND also display the GDPR message? But this GDPR message only appears to European visitors, correct?

I have never seen a website with two cookie messages showing. They all show just one.

A little confused.

I'm going with just the Adsense GDPR popup "for now" as I dont want to annoy visitors anymore than I have to.
