Am I required to use a third-party CMP?

I already published a GDPR message using AdSense consent management solutions found under "Privacy & messaging" but when I go to Policy Center, it says my site has issues with "Consent requirement: Certified CMP not adopted".

I'm confused. Is AdSense out-of-the-box GDPR message not enough? Do i need to use a third-party CMP?

Hi Shetr25 and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Others have noticed the same issue and are discussing it here: [webmasterworld.com...] and another new discussion here: [webmasterworld.com...]

It does matter where your traffic originates for many areas because of differences in privacy laws. A new consent form was issued earlier this year for publishers with EEA and UK traffic for example. That information is here: [webmasterworld.com...]

And then there is the problem that many people who are certain they have the correct consent form see the same warnings you've noticed.

It'll be a kick in the nads if we're forced to use a paid CMP solution. Operating costs are enough as-is alongside dwindling revenue.

No, I think it's a bug. Just wait a while and the message will disappear.
