Hi guys,
So Google has been recently saying they require Adsense publishers to put up a CMP notice on their sites in relation to the GDPR which requires publishers to inform EU users about their options for personalized/non personalized data collection, etc.
So under Privacy and Messaging tab in my account, I can see the option to add a GDPR message using the easy-to-use Google given template.
But, why when I look at my sites to preview this message, I don't see it at all?
NB: I am using a plugin for my WordPress sites called GDPR Cookie Consent for the past several years with a footer banner that links to my privacy policy, and still continue using it. But my current privacy policy is probably inadequate (I don't know of anywhere that can generate a completely functional privacy policy) as it only mentions that the visitor can enable or disable cookies in their browser, and to visit Google for more info.
So how does this new Google template message work, in relation to this plugin since it is supposed to be "complete"? Do I need to remove the WordPress plugin since the Google one is supposed to replace it, or that is what it looks to me? But how come I don't see this Google CMP message at all after enabling it?
By the way, I'm not in the EU, and I have non-personalized ads enabled, so does this Google message only appear to EU visitors and/or publishers who enabled personalized ads?
I just want to preview how it looks like on my sites.
Thanks in advance.
