Issues with Google Adsense freezing revenue during viral article trend

Hey everyone,

I'm writing this post on behalf of my partner, who works tirelessly as a news writer and relies on ad revenue for income. It seems that whenever one of her articles starts trending, Google Adsense freezes the revenue counter for the remaining 6 hours, and this has happened to her for the third time now.

In the past year alone, she has had the fortune of going viral or trending four times. The first time, she experienced a DDOS attack, which resulted in her competitor taking her place on the search engine (yes, it happened exactly as you might imagine, she completely vanished from Google after that happened). The second, third, and fourth times, Adsense froze the revenue counter.

Naturally, my partner is extremely disappointed because she has missed out on a significant amount of money each time, ranging from $400 to $600. I completely understand her frustration.

This issue pertains to organic traffic primarily from the United States, and her articles are both original and professional. It's disheartening to see her hard work go unrewarded when it should be the opposite.

I decided to post here in the hope of finding some solace or potential solutions. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Google Adsense freezing revenue during viral or trending periods? If so, how did you handle it or find a resolution?

Any advice, insights, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your help.

@heathcliff ... Welcome to Webmasterworld.

The implications in your post suggest that g is saying "this much and no more", OR that it takes just about that long before the content appears in search engine answer boxes, or has been scraped by copycats, reducing visibility. AFAIK none of the above is right or wrong, only possible!

As for resolutions, I can't think of any other than a paywall.

Hey @tangor, thanks for your reply.
Re: "this much and no more" - I did not know there's a limit?

Not saying that is the case! Your description merely suggests all is okay with viral content until it reaches "x" amount and "somebody else" wants to take over from there.

My tin foil hat is firmly in place!

@tangor, no worries, I still think my sister is an alien rofl

No, but it happened exactly how I explained. The DDOS attack only happened once. And she had a moment she was down because of that and stopped publishing for a few days, she earned more with less than when she received tons of traffic to her article.

The part what I dislike is this is so vague. So hopefully someone here experienced similar problems.

@heathcliff.The same thing happens to me, I hardly edit anymore, what I do is update the posts with the most views, I "curate content", I do a little SEO, and I update.
