November final earnings 12% lower than October. But it's no wonder because RPM is 10% and CPC is 8% lower than last month. I hope that December will be better.

and a bit of a spillover effect this Tuesday
That turned out to have been a bit of an understatement. Thought it was just spillover from Cyber Monday due to my time zone difference with the US, but traffic's been up by 30-40% all week and RPMs as well, Dec 1 is now the best day of the last 3 years, and Mo-Wed are top 10. Still, November down 5% YoY, but with 30% fewer pageviews (I disabled ads for a bunch of low-paying countries to improve the user experience). December off to the best start.

Rubbish here too. Low CPM and CTR. 1/4 of last years earnings plus inflation == disaster really

This whole year earnings were peanut. Adsense was dead this year, not able to even recover hosting cost with Adsense. 2023 will be much worst.

If Carl Sagen was making the report:
"There are billions and billions of sites in the skies, all of them doing a bit less than before since there are more billions and billions of other sites also in the skies and the great g can only share so much to all those billions and billions..."
But Sagen wasn't a web wonk, so a lot of this is competition ramping up, new localities coming on line, possible global recession on the horizon, spenders looking at how deep they have hit their savings and saying "this much, and not a drop more..."
That said, the authority sites and brand names are also seeing drop offs in ROI which are concerning just a bit. Some have even halted advertising on the net, though how deep and how long is not yet known.
2023 will be an interesting landscape. Planning ahead, as much as possible, might get one through, but stay the course as this, too, will eventually pass. Will the glory days ever return? Probably not---see the above balderdash for the reason why. The pie is only so big.

Another dry day. It's hard to believe this is December. Lowest RPM I have ever seen in December.

So far December is even lower than Nov in terms of RPM & CPC, ~50% lower than last year. Most of my traffic is from the UK.

I never had such a bad December. Yes, the traffic sux, but the main problem is the payment! Is very low and it does not seem to pick up the pace.
Can you imagine January-February 2023?

Reality is, ad affiliates are a slowly dying business. No one wants to see ads visiting a site - don't tell me you do. People need and want information faster than ever before, not to be distracted by something mostly irrelevant. Google knows this. They are trying desperately to keep the ecosystem clean and with new spenders, but I don't see how they can. Browsers and ad blockers will always win unless we as hosts prevent them visiting, makes things more complicated.

@ember+ mind sharing monthly or yearly income for you AdSense? Are you a web publisher?
ember
5:07 pm on Dec 7, 2022 (gmt 0)
Breathofair33, I can't share income numbers but I've made a living as a web publisher with Adsense for 20 years. I've picked up part-time jobs throughout that time, writing, teaching, etc., just to calm my nerves when Adsense dips. I've also branched into other areas (books, affiliates, etc.).

Still going surprisingly strong right now, with RPMs +30% compared to December last year. Expecting it to dip a bit towards Christmas but so far so good.
