There are 30K+ ad networks, which are competing to advertise on Adsense publishers' sites.
The more the merrier.
300+ are labelled "do not use", "don't use", "cancelled", "retired", "expired"... why are those in the list of ad networks?
Is Adsense really invoking all these 30K+ networks, before deciding which ad to show on a page ?
If so, this is not surprising that Adsense is so slow to deliver ads.
I assumed that, ad networks, needed to fulfill certain strict quality criteria and requirements before being approved to enter the Adsense inventory, and that only best ones could be selected... So how can we have ad networks such as :
- 700+ "mts-test-" followed by a CLSID-like id.
- "Client Name Example"
- "Test client Nov27"
- "test empty partner_client_id" and " test non-empty partner_client_id"
- "Testing this package client"
- "Test client"
- "Client Account Test"
- "00Test1010_ that was too much"
- "garys super cool new client for the bug bash"
- ...
