Unauthorized Anchor Ads Experiment started on my site against my consent!

Several months ago I disabled all Auto Ads when Google Adsense went out of control and started posting huge ads above the first fold of my website and dozens of ads everywhere on every page which made my website look like a city dump. It took them several days to remove the messy ads from my website.

Today I have noticed that Google started Anchor Ads Experiment against my consent. They did not announce me of that experiment and did not ask me whether I wanted it or not. Also it is unclear whether we get paid for the ads run within the experiment or not. And there is no clear way to stop that experiment!

Finally I think I was able to stop the unauthorized experiment and Google instructions somehow and every elusively explain that one has to STOP the experiment before they can do anything (even disable) with the Auto Ads. Well I looked everywhere and could not find where and how to disable or stop (same thing) that uncalled experiment, so after an hour I finally found some way to disable the optimization of ads (which were all originally disabled) but Google found a way to enable something so they can run their Anchor Ads Experiment on my website against my direct consent.

That's some sneaky ways they practice will have them lose all our trust. I no longer am interested posting any new Google ads on my website and will be removing existing ones every time I update the site. The earnings went so low that it's not worth keeping Google Ads on one's site anymore. And the first 10 pages of the Google Search has become a collection of big corporate and government links.

Did you remove the code from your pages? In order for Auto-ads to run it requires a code snippet to be added to your pages. When you disables Auto-Ads, did you remove the code from the HTML or did you simply change the toogle in the Adsense UI?

Simply put, to disable ads, auto or otherwise remove the code on the pages and Evil Corp, no sorry Google will not be able show it's ads.

Just as a side note, Anchor ads, and Vignette ads use the Auto-Ads code but have their own toggles in the UI, disabling "Auto-Ads" toggle does not disable Vignette or Anchor ads.

The earnings went so low that it's not worth keeping Google Ads on one's site anymore.

If you find something better than AdSense let us know.
