December is peak shopping season and thus for, most, AdSense publishers the biggest month of the year. But Pandemic, supply chain issues, inflation and everything else happening in 2021, will this year follow the trend?

Another month of clawbacks FML
What do people think of the idea of only showing Adsense to cookie users and the Adsense bot itself?
<? if($_COOKIE[name] or $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] =='Mediapartners-Google'){ ?> show Adsense <? } ?>
The thinking is, bot clicks might get reduced.
Can anyone foresee problems?

November was a record month, the best ever and clawback <1%. Hopefully this continues into December.

@NickMNS that's pretty good. What would you put that down to?
I did a fair degree of ASN blocking, and use Cloudflare's firewall and bot blocking tool - for a period, things moved in the right direction, but of late they've gone south. 36% clawback this month, 27% last month.
@gatormark well done, going in the right direction. What would you attribute that to? Although, 11% is still pretty severe.

Actually, my idea above won't work. The pages get cached and they're server side lookups.
Maybe a client side script call to the remote Adsense script would work though, subject to not being against the tos.
Frustrating.

@Travelman try my way to bring down the clawback to a minimum. After 6 hectic months with a steady increase in clawback (at one point it was almost 25%), the way with the challenge corporate IP address has brought a change, so now the clawback does not exceed 3%: Check out: [webmasterworld.com...]

@TravelMan
I can’t attribute the revenue increase any one thing. Whatever Google suggest that I do to the website and ads, I do it.
During the down months of Covid, I started advertising MORE. That always helps when the market turns around.
As far as firewall stuff, I block certain countries in their entirety; Russia, China, etc. The usual suspects.

Traffic is normal so far today but RPM and CTR is down, what a way to start the week.

September was best month. After that revenue has gone down. December is not so good till. Last month to earn and then dry 3-4 months.

November was incredible, December is also great, but nothing like the last 2 weeks of November. Expected, I guess. It may pick up.

Still rolling right along here in the USA. October was very good. November was great. December has been similar to November so far (great), but it will taper off a week before Christmas.

Great 4th quarter so far, but revenue will fall off a cliff on Dec 27th-28th. Happens every year like clockwork. Then a long, slow climb back to 4th quarter again.

@ember In my niche January is a down month because, well, because it’s January.
My other down months are June, July, and August: the summer months when school is out in the USA.

It hasn't been a great year for me, but November was the best month ever in 6 years, December is off to a slower start.

Curiosity killed the cat, I hope it doesn't kill me.
Anyone use In-Article ads?
Just wondering if they perform better then "Display Ads" within an article.
