My Adsense numbers have been very weird lately. The estimated earnings is higher than it should be or what I expect.

My traffic is normal for this time of year. No unusual activity or spikes in traffic. So, that’s good. However, my estimated earnings is very high. Higher than I would expect.

I have changed to the new AdSense code recently and that is the only change I have made in my website that’s getting this unusual jump in estimated income. I only promote the website using Google Ads; no other services.

My other websites are behaving normally, but I have not updated that AdSense code.

Last month I had my highest clawback ever of 24%. I am afraid this month will be even higher.

Should I be concerned? I would normally be concerned if I had unusual traffic, but that’s not the case here. It’s normal traffic.

It doesn’t seem like there’s much I can do to determine why this is occurring. Thoughts?

I'm used to fluctuations throughout the year, but the estimated earnings for me is never too much out of expectations.

I'm stumped, too.

I'm not sure that one can tell by traffic patterns. It doesn't take a lot of "users" to make a big difference in AdSense earnings, so a few spurious users or bots can easily slip by without impacting traffic. I would look to other metrics, like number of clicks and CTR if those are high I would start digging. On the other hand if CPC is high, then you should be good, because there really isn't much that you can do to influence that, it's set by the auction.

My revenue is trending on the high end of the range today but clicks and CTR are normal, only CPC is high. So I assume that it should be ok. I guess we'll see at month end.

Ok so that means I don't have to replace any code if I read google support link?
