I started getting the following notice in my Adsense account related to EU User Consent...

"We've detected an issue on your IAB TC string on one or more of your sites or apps. These errors may affect your ability to serve ads to European users. A detailed report is available for you on the EU user consent page."

There's a report they let you download that shows you basic things like site, number of incidents, and error code.

I was wondering what some of you were doing to keep the EU User Consent settings in Adsense happy. Apparently it's not enough to simply switch the setting to be Non-Personalized Ads, seems you actually have to capture a user response and pass it on to Adsense?

The help files indicate that, after 90 days, Adsense will stop serving ads altogether to EU people if this isn't addressed.

I've not seen that error, but i'll certainly look out for it.

I wonder if this can help "Troubleshooting TCF v2.0 implementation" [support.google.com...]

Thank you for the response.

I've been pouring over that same documentation and more all week. Still formulating a plan of action once I understand what I need to be doing.

I solved it on my Wordpress site. Excuse my lack of tech knowledge in my explanation. For me, it was that ads were loading before cookie consent was given. So, I added a plug-in for EU cookie consent. The plug in sets up the consent banner, and prevents ads from being shown until the user chooses to accept or decline cookies. It worked perfectly for adsense.
However, I still had the error. It took a while to figure out, but I had an affiliate banner in my sidebar that was somehow slipping through the plugin. When I removed it, the error went away.

Hi @kwebbsc? Which plugin did you use? Can you please share?

I am using Google's Funding Choices - have it installed for weeks now and still seeing the message "We've detected an issue on your IAB TC string on one or more of your sites or apps..."

Anyone else using Funding Choices?
