Yes, there has been a huge drop-off in monthly Adsense posts the past few months.

Based on the majority of posts reporting a decline in earnings, people may have given up, or have nothing to share once the venting process is over.

Addressing your comment about audience growth, and I can only speak for myself…but I would safely assume others in my position feel the same, once Adsense revenue declined so much for the current content, there isn't much incentive to create new content. I'm in my prime earning years, so I need to focus on work that does make a livable wage and more, not the scraps Adsense has become.

When advertisers are no longet getting a decent return on their investment then they'll stop using AdWords.

Many publishers' incomes have been hit by all of Google's own ads at the top of the SERPs.

FWIW where I live in the UK most of the local businesses who were using AdWords have completely stopped, in my own national widget trade nearly all the trade has stopped using AdWords altogether.

Some national brands are still advertising heavily but none are using AdWords whatsoever. Probably the biggest ad spending company, who in previous Xmas run-ups spent heavily on TV ads, hasn't divulged its plans to me ... yet! :-)

So far November is currently horrendous, probably worse start to a any month in the past 6 years.

Starting to get worried about this substantial downturn. :(

There is a slow and deadly decline in revenue and we are tired waiting for a miracle.
There is no miracle, no going back to the golden age. The system is inexorably sinking.

Google SERPs is full of ads, Facebook, Instagram also, but the ads are dull and aggressive.

I saw almost no Halloween ads/promo.

In the retail market, all is dead, waiting for Black Friday deals from the big players.
The big players do not need any ads, the small ones don't have money.

I bet the Chrismas season will also miss online ads.

Fortunately, my sites aren't my main source of income. That said, I'm trying to manage the decline.

I also find it odd that Google had a 20% increase in ad revenue during the third quarter, which makes me wonder where the money is going.

Meanwhile, I have had mixed results with auto ads. I learned they are worth trying, but only carefully without deleting all of my existing ad positions.

Here we go again, 7 months, yes 7 months since I removed AdSense off a specific site and already this month, after 7 days, it has had 61 USA and 39 Mexico page views ... It's no wonder there's a massive problem with this programme!

They're dead, deceased, they are no longer, doesn't your incredible technology show the names are available for registration at normal rates?

I don't usually take part in the observations thread, mostly as AdSense plays a very minor part in what we do (adx, header bidding, open bidding + rich media). Very surprised to see the comments above though. We're seeing very strong CPMs in November. I'm seeing similar comments from others using diversified set-ups like ours. A lot of that still comes from Google, but we follow the principal of never letting Google alone set the price. Interestingly though we are seeing Google win a lower proportion of bids at the moment. It is partners like Rubicon, AppNexus, IndexExchange etc that are pushing up the rates.
Time to diversify?
