Hello-

As for the new rules, I'll just keep the one which says that, if a page of a site is "accidentally" flagged as containing sexually content, at least the site and account will not be blocked / banned, and the only risk is that this page displays less ads. I mention this because, like a lot of you, I had , in the past "warnings" for hosting sexually explicit material (photos) , which were absolutely not related to sexuality, or not even nudity. So, this is one less "risk" , also, for those who are really providing adult oriented content, it might be a new way to monetize their pages, since they'll be able to display adsense ads now, and for advertisers, new opportunities, for those targeting this kind of niche.

Now, as for adsense today, the month starts badly, first time ever. It's still early in the day, and first of the month, first of the new quarter, but still. The coverage is killing me. 15% ! And with the fact it's no longer possible to use backup ads, it makes plenty of nearly empty spots all over my sites...

the work atmosphere has become much worse when Google has started to recruit only on the basis of gender and was recruited many young women despite their competence

What?

68% of Google employees are male. If you want to blame poor business decisions on anyone, blame it on Sundar Pichai (male) and the bro squad.

When google changed up adsense recently my earnings dropped big time. I finally started getting traffic again, and now Im earning very low. It is mainly due to the fact that they removed the option where your block ads can either show display image ads or textual ads. Now they just show whichever they want you cant pick image adverts only, now im getting many of those low paying textual ads.

Today I had 15 thousand visitors with a little over 400 clicks, with a CPC of 0.09 cents, and a click thru rate of 2.84%

My total earning are $24.87

A few months ago I had a similar day with over 400 clicks and earned $178.95.

I tried the ad balance setting where they said show the best paying ads only to increase your earnings, so I put it at 75% and it didnt help my earnings

How much advertisers stopped due to controversial placements of ads? Not only at YouTube but also other website. Big advertisers lowered their spendings and it's a part of our lower earnings too. At the other side I can advertise now for about 10 eurocent a click. That's also very low but another sign that there are problems with earning with ads now.

Worst day of the year here. As at 5:40pm UK time I'm about 1/4 of what I used to do daily. Pretty dismaying to see my hard work go down the pan.

We're sorry, some data in this report is delayed, please try again later. There's no impact to ad serving or payments.

But we know there is always an impact.

A few months ago, Adsense had a problem and we had 0 data for half a day... We never got back the lost money...

Lol where would you like to complain? There's no direct contact possible so you could try a support forum with so called experts... who don't work for Google.

Following an average at best couple of months, I changed the ads served on my site in the articles from all being set at 300x250 to alternating between that and 336x280. More importantly, I changed the AMP code to ensure all ads served were 300x250 fixed and not responsive to the screen size, unlike before. My earnings sky rocketed the day after, producing one of my best days. My third highest RPM in 2019 with my all-time best CTR.

I’m not saying it’s due to that (there’s a ton of other factors involved), but replacing the full width ads for fixed ads to take up less of the user’s screen is something I’d suggest trying out. Especially in articles on mobile. Even if it does nothing, it doesn’t seem to have negatively impacted any of my metrics.

I make a large amount of my income on 5/6 particular days of the month, so let’s see how the next one goes. Will be happy to report back.

@nmbrsk It'd be nice to hear how it evolves. I have experiences were small adjustments have changed the rpms trends.

A big hello to all of you.
What the hell's going on?
I have compared to last year over 80% less.
What could be the reasons for such a crash?

I am observing massive drop in impressions on tablet devices since October 17. Basically Google has suddenly stopped showing ads in tablet browsers. It has brought down my revenue quite a bit :(

Can anyone else confirm this? Just select "Platform Tablets" filter in reports and observe the pageview to impressions ratio after October 17.

How much worse can earnings be for some of you longtime posters of "bad, terrible, worst", etc.?

Based on comments, it seems the bottom dropped out a long time ago. When I was commenting on bad earnings, I meant it. There was no getting worse…I was at bottom and had to move on.

@skaterpunk Right now I am down 30% from last year primarily because of CPC decreases and coverage issues. The prior year I took a 25% decrease because of Google SERP changes. It can get worse for me and probably will come January. I am starting my financial backup plans.

I have been experiencing rather poor performance recently and noticed adsense randomly serves blank white ads despite me having set up backup ads for every unit on site. That would explain such a poor performance...

Hello-

despite me having set up backup ads for every unit on site.

Adsense discontinued backup ads, since some time now.

[webmasterworld.com...]

And you can see that, if you edit your existing ad units, there is no more option to set up backup ads.

Now, if there are no ad, ad units are collapsed IF they are not above the fold.To me this is to kill other ad networks, that "we" were using as backup ads.

@gatormark, firstly my original comment was not a dig at anyone.

Yes, Adsense has been a year after year decline, and for some, bigger declines than others, so that's why I wondering how there can be much left.

@skaterpunk - yes, it can be worse.
Witch each year, the revenue from Adsense is going down and I'm close to the limit of letting go, as I have few employes left.
After a promising month, we hope that will last, but there inexplicable large swings in payment from day to the next.

@skaterpunk - I didn't take your comment as a dig. While I'm still living off my Adsense and other Ad revenue income, I'm not sure how much longer I will be able to. 2020 will be a make or break year for me...but I'm planning for the worst. Having said that, yesterday was my best CPC day in 5 months.
