I logged into my AdSense account this afternoon to be met with a message regarding having to Declare authorised sellers with ads.txt - they provide a download link (that does not work on Microsoft Edge). It also provided a link to a help page [support.google.com...]

Is this mandatory and if I ignore it will it make any difference? No other affiliate account has given me this message (yet).

ads.txt appears to be a standard now. The file is so easy to create that I suggest complying and moving on.

Do you require any assistance on creating the ads.txt file?

I got this msg today too, but it was for a site I don't run ads on. I added the file anyway otherwise I think Adsense is going to pester me about it into the Afterlife.
