Ad Balance Setting?

Anyone have better results with less than 100%?

Hi all. New here. I've used adsense on my sites for years, but am now wondering about the "Ad Balance" setting. Mine is currently set at 100%, the default. I realize that every site configuration and content is different. So, results may vary. And, I know I can run a lengthier experiment to see how changing this settings affects my revenue. However, I was hoping some of you might give me your insight on the matter, prior to me beginning my "experiment" in adsense directly.

So, with that in mind, do any of you have it set to less than 100%? In other words, has lowering this given you substantially greater revenue?

Thanks in advance for commenting.

I don't use it for the simple fact that when there is no ad to show, there is an empty space where the ad should be. It makes my pages look "hokey."

100% of what, fill-rate or revenue? As you adjust the fill rate the tool estimates the impact on revenue. I typically set the fill rate to the value where the revenue remains 100%, which is effectively 99.5%. In my case this works out to about 70%. I have not seen any measurable impact on revenue. But there are other reasons to use this feature as I have outlined in this thread:

@Azlinda, I prefer seeing blank spaces than seeing spammy ads.
