Adsense folks not allowing Search code in empty content pages?

Hi so I've been flagged by Adsense for a 404 page from which I removed all ad code.

So I asked them why, and they now say it's the Google search code that's causing this notice by their algorithm.

Has anyone else been asked to remove the custom search code from their pages as violation of adsense policies? Thanks!

Custom Search has its own Terms, separate from the AdSense Terms. They do not permit custom search on 404 pages. You should read the terms for any of their tools and services that you use.

Ok well the search code is in a menu all across the site. So I'd have to get some editing going for the 404 page.

The thing is, the basic rule is that you can't monetize "empty" page.

Yes I removed all adsense code (search and ad) and removed all ad code from my 404 page. I also added noindex to my html code for 404 page.

Weird. I've had a G Search box on my 404 page and a few other Search related pages for many years. Never had a complaint from G. Never had an ad code there, though.

When you mean G search box do you mean Adsense generated CSE box (with pub ID) ? I had this code and I removed it once and for all. Let's see further.

As with Elsmarc I have also had Google Search on my 404 page - obviously never AdSense though - that is too Oh Duh!.

It allowed the visitor to further search my sites for what they originally came for - often the 404 arose because of a malformed link from other inbound sites.

Is there a google search code that can be installed without the CSE code available in Adsense?
