I also noticed that the only kinds of ads on my site that have a higher CTR are rich media ads. Do anyone know why this may be?

I've been seeing big swings in RPM over the past few days, this is reflected in CTR. See my comments in the April Adsense Thread. Tuesday I saw my CTR increase by more than double the daily average.

Our ctr has risen steadily about 35% over the last 10 days and cpm has fallen by a similar amount. Both are now at very unusual rates compared with historical averages but rpm is almost unchanged.

One site today has a very high CTR and one has a very low CTR. Averages out to a little lower than normal, although I am not sure what normal is anymore.

What do you think is causing this? Should we simply rearrange ads to stabilize again or is it some kind of bug that should pass over? I have also never seen such a rise in CTR

I've learned over the years that changing things around just because it looks like "something" is not working right just makes things worse. That's not to say I don't do testing here and there, but generally, I let things ride. Google usually figures it out. The CTR evens out, the bots cease, the ads improve, whatever. So much of it is out of my control that nothing I do is going to make much difference anyway.

How long do you think it will take Google to figure this out how long does it usually take for them to figure things like this out?

No telling. Hours, days, weeks. Probably not what you want to hear. Can you contact support to find out if they see any issues with your page setup?

I can’t be certain but it seems it may be getting a little better and as long as it shouldn’t be more than weeks at most when things like this do happen it isn’t horrible. And the weird thing about my page setup/ad layout is I haven’t changed it in almost a year or if I did did it was a very small change. And the time this started happening I had changed nothing
