I just love this ... an awesome, helpful post.
@cyberkix ... For many, not all, AdSense is totally and utterly fubard and for those who are doing alright, good luck to you, however watch your back, you're next.

My point being you're not ousted in some random fashion. There's a reason AdSense is "utterly fubard" for you, and it won't be anything silly like "Google wants to kill all publishers". The anti-Google sentiment usually comes from publishers unwilling or unable to look critically at their sites and make changes. If there truly was a demand for your traffic over that of other publishers, which is essentially what you're saying by pointing fingers at Google, then you wouldn't be having this problem. You're at the bottom of the barrel, so you get the left-overs. That's what I believe, anyway, and so far not a single case study has proven otherwise. 30 Steps to Return Sites Back to Internet Profitability [webmasterworld.com]

When the Google market hits my sites hard like that, I usually take the time to redesign/restructure them for a possible new audience. At least you can give the site new life while you wait for numbers to bounce back (if they ever do). But in that way, the ball is truly in your court. For me it's better than doing nothing and being depressed - which this business has the power to do : /

If you have tried everything and AdSense still doesn't perform, than that is your reality. It is then time to move on and find another monetization method, the point being the ball is still in your court.
Posting in forums about how horrible Google is to you will certainly not help anything.

If your sites are responsive, then check out the Creatives section. I had a few pages with dynamic ads instead of size specific ads, and the ecp on the dynamic ads dropped by about 50% on the 13th and 14th of this month. No idea why.
