Just seen on my AdSense page
==============================================================
Your payments are currently on hold because you have not verified your address.
Verify address
Congratulations! Your earnings have reached the verification threshold, so we've started the process of verifying your account. This will prepare you to receive your first payment once you've earned the payment threshold.

To verify your account we automatically generate and mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the payment address listed in your account. Once you receive your PIN, you'll need to enter it at the bottom of this page. In the meantime, your account remains active and you may continue to show ads and accrue earnings.
==============================================================
But I am at AdSense since 2004

I think the email is pretty straight forward. You need to verify with the PIN they sent to your address.

I think it was more of a “why?” question than a “how?”

Really? After 13,5 years and 210 thousand EUR earnings?

In this case they're the same. Adwords needs account verification for the payment address. Just do it. What's the issue?

It doesn't matter how long the account has been opened. I'm always verifying my accounts and I'm approaching 21 years on some.

I think it's a standard thing for new accounts, so I guess they're just catching up. I got a PIN in the mail once, but I don't recall if it was for AdSense... it may have been for my Developer account. Fingers crossed you'll get the PIN before the next payment is due.

Have you queried g/adsense if this is a valid message and not phishing?

They're not saying this is a phishing email.

Was this message seen on Desktop or Mobile? Was it displayed on the Adsense Home page or the Payments page?

What world location are you all at? Do you all receive checks at a physical location, or direct deposits to a bank?

Just looking for similarities.

Could be a bug, time will tell. Nevertheless, always make sure your address is up to date.

Hmm. I have this message too. I'm assuming it's a bug.

All my info is up to date, and I think I was earning above the threshold back in 2003...

Don't assume it's a bug.

Most likely it's just catching up with anti-money laundering and possibly GDPR.

It would really help if Google explained it as to why as i'm not sure the earnings threshold really is the reasons, having had earnings well in excess.

Also verified since 2006. Not sure what's behind this but by the time the postcard is received it may well be beyond the payment date which is usually about 7 days from now. So we miss payment this month?

Considering the amount of emails they send to my Gmail account about everything else Adsense / webmaster tools etc, I'd have thought some advance warning on this would have been in order...

I am based in the UK and got this message and red bar on Sunday morning which surprised me as I have been with adsense for over 11 years. Received the pin in the post today and after entering it the message went.

Conclusion based on reported facts: Some aspects of AdSense's user interface are created and maintained by the same people who gave us GSC.

My account pages all look normal.

I'm not seeing any message of that type on Desktop or Mobile

So, is it just a UK, possibly EU, based thing?

Whatever the case its a pretty cac-handed way of dealing with it. Maybe some advanced warning would be nice when you are talking about people's livelihoods?!

I got the message about a week ago on a relatively new account (less than a year old) that I manage. I received the card in the mail today. Now all is good.

All of you that have received this message about verifying payment address...

I assume your checks are sent to a physical location?
(or are you using direct deposit to a bank)

Don't understand why you are being asked to verify your address then, unless you are being caught in some type of filter and flagged for verification, possibly for GDPR or money laundering suspicion as engine mentioned.

I don't know if it matters, but also adsense since January 2004, but in the US and direct deposit. They definitely had some system problem this year. They sent me a 1099-MISC for 2017 with the wrong amount. I received a second one with the correct amount about 2 weeks later.
