DFP small business not able to read Ads.txt

Hi,

I do not know this is the right forum to ask this question. One of my site uses two different company DFP. Both are reporting that ads.txt doesn't exist(No ads.txt posted). I tried accessing site like https://example.com/ads.txt and https://www.example.com/ads.txt. And it is giving 200 success. (its been 4+ month since this file exist)

I checked my logs and appnexus bot, IAB bot, rocketfuel bot, pulse point bot, moat ads and others are able to access this ads.txt file. Any suggestion what should I do?

You can check to be sure that Google's ads bot is able to access the .txt file. The User-Agent is Mediapartners-Google. Do you find that bot in your access logs?

yes it is able to read robots.txt file for sure. i tried using google search bot and it was also able to read ads.txt file. Just DFP showing No ads.txt posted.

You can specifically allow the ads bot in robots.txt by adding these lines:

User-agent: Mediapartners-Google
Disallow:

which means nothing is disallowed for that bot. Then make sure that the ads.txt file is in the root directory where the robots.txt file is found. These are steps you may have already done, in that case it is down to a wait. I don't know of a way to request an ad bot crawl.

There is a tool for testing the ads.txt file to ensure the syntax is not somehow causing a problem. I'll look for the URL - Maybe someone else has it handy to add here.

Yes these are already set. The thing is ads.txt is already there for more than 4 months now.

I tested it with [adstxt.adnxs.com...] and it shows Congrats! Your file passed our checks.

If you are using multiple Ad networks, accounts or work with ad networks within AdSense there are some special case rules that might affect getting AdSense to "recognize" your ads,txt file. If you do a search here for "ads.txt" you can read about these issues and how they were resolved.

A couple to start with are at [webmasterworld.com...] and [webmasterworld.com...]

Account IDs, listing status (Direct vs. reseller) can cause your ads.txt to be ignored.
