Hi,

I've recently came across at:
[support.google.com...]

Though our Terms and Conditions don't permit transfers of account ownership, we do allow you to update your payee name and address. In most locations, you will have the option to change your payee name within your account by following these steps:
...
In the "Name and address" section, click Compose, then make any desired changes.
Note name in your payee profile field must match your tax information. If you update the name field of your payee profile, make sure to resubmit your tax information. For U.S. publishers, the W9 name field will pre-populate with the name in your payee profile.

Additionally, if you have a form of payment that requires a separate delivery address such as check payments, you can update this information in your payment settings. Follow these instructions to update your delivery name or address.

And also here in this answer:
[productforums.google.com...]
indirectly you can assume that one could change the payee name for the new payments.

However, apparently the TOC state that you cannot change the payee name.
On my adsense account, I can change the name and address in my payee profile.

The new payee name will stay in the same country with the same form of payment.

Is changing payee name forbidden or tolerated by google?
Has anyone of you changed your payee profile?
I'd like to avoid closing the adsense account especially for the ad banners, it's quite complicated to replace them again in all pages...

I had the same problem, I even asked my manager and Google employees. Just close the account and open another one with new name, changing payee name might result in a ban. Safest option is to open a new account.

Of course you can change your payee name. If you couldn't you wouldn't have the option to do so.

Hi Mayank,
I reached the same conclusion. I do not mind loosing a few days revenue.
Is there a way to port/reuse the old ad units? or what's the best way to recreate the ad units once the old account is closed?

Hi vivalasvegas, I believe that they accept only limited reasons for changing the name (marriage, typos)... this is my understanding, but I could be wrong.
