Letting users donate money

I'm not sure what this was called... I logged in to Adsense a few hours ago and had a pop-up about this new feature to use. It presumably will show a banner at the bottom of every 6th pageview, asking the user to donate some money. Once they do, the banner goes away for 6 months.

I went through the steps to customize it, but didn't implement it yet. Now... I can't find it! I've gone through every link in the navigation, and I swear it's not there.

Can you guys suggest (a) whether it's worthwhile, and (b) where do I find it to get the code?

First that I have heard about it but I do have a pop up blocker.

I have a photo site that used to invite donations but my card processor told me that it breached their T&Cs (they changed them after I set it up) so I had to stop.

I read somewhere that Google Contributor was being phased out and replaced by something else in 2017. As yet I've not seen what the "something else" is, if it has been launched or when. As for donation prompting, I wouldn't get excited. The general consensus is that they don't work.

I had one in the several years that I prompted for donations but that was one more than if I hadn't.

I don't know if this was the same as the Google Contributor you linked, engine... this one didn't say anything about being a replacement for ads, but in addition to.

And it's funny, it just gave me a notification about it yesterday, but I've been on Adsense for at LEAST 10 years! lol Especially funny if it's being phased out. I thought this was something new.

I don't expect much out of it, either... truth be told, I've never in my life paid to subscribe to any website or made a donation to one. Ever. I sometimes feel guilty that I still use a nagware version of Paint Shop Pro, after something like 20 years! But still, I've never felt the need to send them money.
