Firefox issue / refreshing

My first post, and I apologize if I'm not doing so correctly.

I've noticed an issue with some Adsense ads on Firefox - possibly only with the responsive ad type (though I haven't isolated that yet). Seems to have started during one of the last two Firefox updates.

Ads and page seem to be completely loaded, but the "loading page" indicator in the Firefox tab keeps spinning, and checking the list on the Back arrow shows repeated listings of the current page, as if it is refreshing over and over. This continues as long as the page is open. Analytics shows no change in page views, and Adsense reports don't look out of the ordinary.

I've made no recent changes to page or ad code. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks.

theatrenut, welcome to WebmasterWorld

Are the ads appearing at all?

Thanks - yes, they do appear, and the problem happens for different, unrelated, ads.

Hi theatrenut and welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

Firefox especially does this with slow loading ads. Chrome caches better and seems to do ok with them.

Good news is, most users do not use Firefox, they use Chrome, Edge & Safari... the browsers that default for their device. Only a small number use 3rd party browsers like Firefox, Opera, etc.

Thanks. Yes, we only have about 10% who use Firefox. There have been other issues with Chrome. But it didn't seem to happen with slow loading ads.

I was able to isolate one ad (that happened to be an affiliate link for a big etailer - didn't know that was kosher) that was always exhibiting the problem, even after other ads loaded in on the same tab on a refresh. So I blocked the bit etailer, and I haven't seen the problem (or the ad) since. Fingers crossed.
