I want to change my AdSense Payee name in India, is it possible?

Hi,

I'm from India. I want to change the Payee name on my AdSense account as I am adding a new Bank account details that has a different account holder name, apparently not mine but my brother's, so the surname is same only the name is different. I believe the payee name on AdSense should match the name on Bank account to get the payment via Wire, right?

As I've got a job and it does not permit me to earn from AdSense, it might create problems for me, so I'll have to change the payee name at any cost. But I earn over 1000$ from AdSense every month so I'm asking whether it would be safe if I change the Payee name today and add the bank account details that matches the payee name and I will get the payment later this month.

I don't want my AdSense to be banned or disabled.

Adsense doesn't seem to allow change in Payee name in India - [support.google.com...] (Countries where you can't change your payee name within your account)

I wasn't aware of the country restriction.

You might wish to consider opening a new accout then MayankParmar.

@Keyplyr+, @Magician+ I had read some articles that claims now Google let us change the Payee name . Furthermore, I see the option to change the Payee name is not grayed out on my account, I can make changes to it. Otherwise, I can also add additional payment profile and make it primary.

So the ultimate question is if I change my Payee name, there would be no problems like my account getting disabled? I'm afraid. Thanks.

In that case, if the utility is available to change/add, then just do it.

I'm not sure why you're worried about having your account disabled.

But this isn't a transfers of account ownership.

I know of accounts that have a different payee name than the account name although that's how the accout was originally was set up. The payee name was not later changed.

Anyway, since there is such confusion, it may be best to just open a new account and change the code on your site.

@Keyplyr+ Hmm. Normal EFT doesn't look at name.. But it would be international transaction and Swift will be processed by the branch. Then local bank branch can sometimes do name matching. Anyways, I'll change the payee and I will update the result here. Your points helped a lot, thanks! :)

@Harculish I had a word with Google employees, I was told that it is not allowed to change the name in India. So I just created a new account with the new payee name and everything is fine.
