Hi,

I was wondering if anyone tried to put 3 ad units of 320 x 100 under each other, instead of one 300 x 250 block on desktop ?

I know the 320 x100 is called "Large Mobile Banner", but will it be filled on desktop? Or is there inventory only for mobiles?

I've been checking the 320 x 100 creatives at Adsense, and I think they are rather appealing, that's why I thought that 3 ads under each others can be interesting. However, if two or three of them show the exact same banner this won't be nice.

Thanks,

The thing that would keep me from stacking the 320x100 units is the issue of double (triple) serving of ads. Three appearances of the same ad, one above the the other wouldn't be good.

From what I see out there double serving is pretty common.

That said, the 320x100 works well for me on desktop.

Thank you ken_b for your feedback.

May I ask where you placed your 320x100 units ? (Side, top, bottom, middle, etc...) and do you observed better performances with display or text ads for these units ?

I would be reluctant to stack three ads units. This will increase available inventory for a given page with ad units that are not "recommended". As a result the demand will be low and also bids. Also be sure that if you do this that the ad units will be viewable, having three unviewed units on a page will destroy your AVV metric.

You can't place three ad units under each other. I am pretty confident that it's against TOS.
