I understood that Google Chrome is supposed to stop supporting Adobe Flash in Q4 of 2016, and that's fine, I don't use it on my site. But today, a lot of people started complaining that they were getting pop-up warnings about it, presumably from the ads.

So, Chrome isn't supporting Flash, but they're still using it for their ads? I didn't see an option in Adsense to disable Flash, so I'm at a loss here.

AdWords has fully phased out Flash ads, but third-party ad networks may still serve them. Not for long, though:
- Starting June 30th, 2016, display ads built in Flash can no longer be uploaded into AdWords and DoubleClick Digital Marketing.
- Starting January 2nd, 2017, display ads in the Flash format can no longer run on the Google Display Network or through DoubleClick.

Good

Flash ads are such plague, that I will not miss them... and as said most browsers are blocking flash by default. So you get the annoyance of the blocking message, and if they are not blocked, you get the annoyance for flash anim, which are often very long to load, and very annoying (animations, sound, etc. ..)
