I might as well kick this month's thread of then.

Not a brilliant start to October, but it could be worse. Like I've said before, you just don't know where you stand these days with AdSense.

I don't even think there's any point in me making changes to my layout, I had a good September with my present layout.

Stuck for me too, like frozen in time, even after the day is complete (eastern time). No stats at all for the new day.

I do not recall it being stuck for this long ever before.

@trebuchet I do think I understand the market. AdSense has bought me a couple of houses, a couple of cars and a reserve in the bank. So... I just tried to share my thoughts. I was not complaining. I think (from my long experience and pure logic) that Google does set a (variable) minimum bid floor. I would do the same if I were them. Problem is, it is difficult to get it right in a market where there is a shortage of advertisers.

I was referring to previous Adsense-is-broken posters, not you.

Problem is, it is difficult to get it right in a market where there is a shortage of advertisers.

That seems to be the problem they are having lately: a shortage of inventory across the board (though seasonal periods are still producing OK).

I haven't been here this month and am surprised so many people having poor earnings. Mine are going up the past 4 months.

Anyway today it's stuck for me too. Traffic is quite nice

Alright. No updates to Adsense reports for coming up to 10 hours now. It's getting ridiculous.

Still stuck here. Looks like everyone on the official Adsense forum is in the same boat. Don't panic... yet.

reporting will be fixed.

In the meantime there are full reports available at Google Analytics showing revenue earned (in real time right up to the last few hours)

go to Analytics > Reporting > Behavior > Publisher > Overview

Stuck earnings is a global thing. Confirmed by my rep.
Also, what @surnames suggested, works only for display units. So if you're running Link Units, they won't show up in the reporting

Thank you for that! I was waiting for someone to talk to their rep so I don't have to do it myself. Yes, GA doesn't work well for me at all. Link units are my top performers by far!

Looks like it's back to normal now. I'm seeing early morning numbers now, and yesterday's total looks normal.

Same here, reporting back to normal. Man I was freaking out last night. It was my day off and I've been under the weather so I took a nap. I was out for about 5-6 hours. I woke up, logged into Adsense and saw my earnings were extremely low. Went to research by logging into Analytics, I must of been really groggy because I picked the wrong reporting and it showed zero stats for everything. My heart was pounding lol

But anyway, glad its back up and running.

And after almost a day with nothing, I'm now enduring a particularly zealous (and particularly lucrative) click bombing. Life is seldom boring with Adsense.

Yeah, I checked my earnings at about 4 o'clock in the morning and it was about two quid. Anyway, when I checked again this morning things were obviously back to normal and the earnings were considerably more. Obviously just a glitch in the system. Not happen for quite a long time.

Once corrected, my earnings for yesterday were completely normal. Have had 5 normal earnings days in a row now. Fingers crossed that whatever the heck happened at the beginning of the month is over for good.

The point is that ad prices and earnings will fluctuate with the market, the business cycle, consumer interests and the calendar.

So it means advertisers pay less for the same keywords now than they paid 1-5 years ago? (since Adsense earnings for same keywords go down).

Everybody wants to make money on the Internet nowadays. AdSense is probably the simplest way to make good money without needing to have a degree in computing. Like 99% of us on here, my earnings are not what they used to be two or three years ago. In my opinion, there are more people trying to make money using AdSense than there are people who use AdSense to advertise their businesses. So for five years ago somebody would have had to pay let's say £1 for a certain keyword, that same keyword is probably only costing them 25p now. So unless you can triple the amount of clicks you got from three years ago, earnings are going to drop considerably. That's just the way I see things.

Why not? Did you think those prices were bound to remain static?
Publishers have increased; competition from other ad networks has grown; Adwords advertisers have become smarter at manipulating campaigns. These factors and others have pushed down bid prices. Publishers will either adapt to this or die.

Our earnings have not fallen over time.
Our CPC changes a bit with the seasons but I just looked at a chart of the last 5 years and both CPC and RPM are broadly unchanged over the last few years. It has been down a bit (10%) for the last couple of months but I think that is perhaps a brexit consequence because we earn significantly in UK but our reporting is in euros - in GBP terms it is almost unchanged.

Well there must be some reason why my earnings have dropped to less than half they were two years ago. And the only reason I can think of is that I'm simply not getting the money per click I was back then. To be honest, I've got no idea, and it seems that most other people don't really know either.

@Rasputin you're very lucky if your earnings are still unchanged because the majority of people on here have suffered terribly.

Like I said, I simply don't think there is the money to go around like in the good old days. And maybe people are being a lot more picky where their high paying ads show.

Ironside, people who are still doing OK (or even very well for some, I imagine) tend not to post here because they don't want to sound like they are showing off when it is clear lots of people are earning less, and also because they don't have a problem they want to discuss.
As a result you are not seeing a representative sample in these threads and it is not easy to know in % terms whether most publishers are doing better or worse than a few years ago.

Yeah, I suppose people who aren't having problems probably don't think about coming here. It's just through frustration that a lot of us are seeking solitude with people who are in the same situation.

To be honest, I'm quite happy with what I'm earning nowadays. It was nice when earnings were way up in the several hundreds, but I never thought it would last forever. I suppose nowadays it's just a case that everything is a bit more of a challenge. In my particular case I think that my uphill challenge has been dealing with the amount of people are now accessing my website from a mobile device. I'm absolutely convinced that this is why my earnings have dropped dramatically. Just so happens that most of the people who use my website do so from a mobile.

If mobile RPMs was on par with desktop I doubt there would be much discussion about lower earnings.
