September 2016 AdSense Earnings and Observations

Can we expect better for September?

I'm not one of the AdSense power users, always considered it a sideline. I don't even look at stats every day. I have seen an increase over the past few weeks that does not fit with others' observations over August. Not an earthshaking increase but noticing that recent changes on my part seemed to improve earnings. I switched to a fixed size ad at the top of the sidebar that is 320 x 100 so the same ad can show for desktop and mobile. Near the top of the page on desktop and across the top of the footer in mobile. It earns better than what I had been doing which was to use different sizes with media queries. Am I the last one to notice this?

September was my best month ever with a less than a 1% clawback. Thats 2 very good months in a row now. Weird though that Septrmber 30th and today (Octobrer 1st) the RPM dropped significantly. New quarter/month?

My September earnings and RPM were both up a little on August. Clawback for September was about 3.5%. Like others I'm looking forward to higher traffic and (hopefully) better EPC/RPM in the coming quarter.

Same here. About 50%, in fact. Lowest RPMs I've seen in years. Hopefully it will recover in the upcoming week. We're moving towards November and December, traditionally my best months.

1% clawback for September.

Same here, but only for my English language website (especially for US-traffic). A drop of about 50%. I don't see this drop on my websites in other languages. Also, I don't see this drop on media.net and it's the same end of month/quarter.

Big drop on RPM at the beginning of the month. It was averaging $3 to $4. Now it's around $2. Clawback was at 2.4% for September.

Clawback 6.4%!

During July and August I performed a lot of tweaks/modifications to my sites resulting in September's realword business enquiries and orders being the best-ever with several multi million orders being secured and new potential buyers in direct contact.

Why do I comment about this? AdSense earnings continue to bounce along close to the monthly minimum payout meanwhile our own global widget production increases.

Ouch, ouch, ouch! Oct 1 revenue was less than 50% of the previous Saturday, and today (so far) looks to be about the same. Traffic hasn't changed, it's just the RPM that's dropped.

September was my lowest month in about 4 years, so saying that I'm currently half of my worst month... If October is the same then I don't know that I'll be able to cover my bills.
